16.04.2007, Kaltenkirchen – WISKA, the German manufacturer of electrical installation material, presents its latest innovation at the trade fair Hannover Messe - VentGLAND, a breathable cable gland which thanks to pressure compensation reduces condensation water in electrical environments to a minimum.
The core piece of this innovation is a breathable, micro-porous PTFE Gore membrane. Being an integrated element of the cable gland, the latter allows for a pressure balance between the internal and the external atmosphere, reducing condensation. Consequently, the new WISKA cable gland combines several features in just one component, with no additional assembly or drilling required. According to the official manufacturer’s declaration, the major cost savings and the ease of installation are clear advantages of the new VentGLAND, which meets the standards of protection degree IP 69K. Furthermore, the statement claims that the VentGLAND can be fully integrated into the WISKA SPRINT system and that it may, for instance, be used as an EMC gland with multiple and reducing sealing inserts.
VentGLAND is available in the sizes M20 to M63, and customers are able to choose from polyamide, brass or stainless steel.
WISKA General Manager Ronald Hoppmann refers to the product as an “efficient high-tech cable gland which makes previous solutions concerning the removal of condensation water obsolete“. He is convinced that VentGLAND is a product “which exceeds the high standards of the enterprise established in Hamburg in 1919.“
Nowadays, WISKA employs more than 120 staff members who develop and manufacture cable accessory, maritime lighting and electrical installation systems for customers throughout the world.
